As spring break gets closer, professors seem to be piling on more and more work, so I've been on the lookout for new places to study. A girl can only take so much of the boring library and the same Starbucks order, right? So, this week, my roommate Dani and I decided to try out a coffee shop in Kennesaw called Honey Bee Cafe!

Located in the Cobb Place Shopping Center on Barrett Parkway (the same complex as Kuroshio for my fellow KSU students), this cute little store just opened within the last six months. The first thing that caught my eye when we pulled up to the shop were the windows. Practically floor to ceiling, the the majority of the store front is glass, allowing for the cafe to be bathed in natural lighting (I'm a sucker for good lighting if you can't already tell).

Inside, there is an overall theme of yellow and black paired with wood furnishings, featuring small pops of color through the baked goods in the display. A chalk menu boasts different coffees, espressos, bubble teas, smoothies, and teas to choose from, written across three boards.

While looking over the menu, the barista told us a little about the honey teas, which we learned are made by pouring hot water over mixed fruits and herbs, and then mixed with honey. I ended up deciding to try the 12 oz. Green Tea Latte while Dani ordered a 12 oz. Jujube Honey Tea.

Served in blue ceramic mugs, my latte was decorated with a classic milk foam design. I was a little apprehensive at first because I had never mixed tea with milk before, but it was surprisingly good! Warm and frothy, the milk cut down the slight bitterness of the green tea, and was an excellent alternative to coffee. Dani's tea was rich in flavor, balanced between sweet and herbaceous; they were perfect drinks to pair with a long homework session.

So if you're looking for a quiet place to study or a coffee shop that brings simple and yummy twists to classic drinks, I would highly suggest giving the Honey Bee Cafe a visit!

Thanks for reading!

Honey Bee Cafe sounds like the perfect cozy spot to escape from all the schoolwork! A change of scenery (and great coffee) can make studying so much better. I’d love to visit and sip on a smooth Nicaragua coffee while getting work done! ☕📚🐝 #StudyVibes
